Cleaning Of Paste Cooking Kettle OBJECTIVE

1.1 To describe procedures for the cleaning of paste cooking Kettle.

SCOPE

2.1 This SOP is applicable for the cleaning of the paste cooking Kettle in the tablet Section in the Production Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 It is the responsibility of section Supervisor to follow this SOP as it is written.

3.2 It is the responsibility of Production Pharmacist (tablet section) to ensure that this SOP is followed as it is written.

3.3 It is the responsibility of Senior Production Manager to make certain that this SOP is followed in its entirety, reviewed and updated as necessary.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENTS

5.1 Liquid Detergent

5.2 Scotch Bright

5.3 Duster

PROCEDURES

6.1 Rinse the kettle, stirrer and lid with sufficient quantity of de-ionized water.

6.2 Apply sufficient quantity of liquid detergent on the scotch bright.

6.3 Scrub the inner and outer surfaces of kettle, stirrer and lid.

6.4 Wash the kettle, stirrer and lid with sufficient quantity of de-ionized water. Ensure that the detergent is removed completely.

6.5 Rinse the kettle, stirrer and lid with sufficient quantity of purified water.

6.6 Dry the inner and outer surfaces with clean and dry duster.

6.7 Affix “CLEANED” label and fill the “Equipment cleaning log book”.

6.8 Repeat the procedure 6.5-6.7 if not used within 72 hrs.
